The company has introduced many amazing technologies. Their bat features double-wall technology that is made by two independent walls to produce a springboard hitting surface. It elongates the center of percussion to the whole barrel length. There are also single-walled bats as well.

How to choose a bat for baseball and softball?
When there is no variation, it is easy to make a purchase. Just pick, pay, and get. However, when there’s great diversity, the selection becomes hard especially when it is a matter of winning or losing in front of an audience. The same is the case with selecting the bat for baseball and softball. From the length to the performance, the choice is huge and every bat is unique in its own style.
When you are buying a bat, there are certain things to consider making your purchase worthy for your game. Here are the tips for selecting the right bat for baseball or softball.
Which Bat Length to Go For?
The right size is important to hit the right shot. When you are buying your first bat, you can follow this simple rule. Align your hand, it should be parallel to the ground. Place the bat’s knob at the center of your chest and the bat should also be parallel to the floor. If you can easily grab the barrel that means this size is perfect for you. One more way is to place the bat right beside you and check whether your palm can reach the handle with ease. If yes, then you can buy it.
However, when you want to change your current bat, it is suggested to increase one inch at a time. The best bat length for you is the length at which you can easily swing without making big changes to your swing style.
How to select the Bat Drop?
Bat drop is the bat weight, to put it simply. It is the difference between the length of the bat and weight. If the bat has a length of thirty inches with a drop weight of -10, the weight of the bat would be 20 ounces. That means when the bat weight is the opposite of bat drop. When the drop weight is greater, the bat is lighter.
If you sum up all this in a formula you will have:
Bat length – drop weight = bat weight
In our example, it is 30 – 10 = 20
The difference in drop weight is because a kid with a good height doesn’t necessarily have the potential to carry the bat having heavyweight. Also, it is not important that a strong player can play comfortably with the heavier bat. Hitting the ball requires the right swing. So, whichever bat drop feels good to play with and seems to have the best speed and power, you can go for it.
Different leagues have their drop weight requirements. Generally, the high school players must have a drop weight of -3 or lower.
Which bat material is the best?
When the kid is just starting, there are mainly three bat options:
- Alloy: Also known as an aluminum bat, they make the ping sound when the ball touches. There’s no need to break in these bats. Just tear the wrapper and start using them. They may get dents at the end, that’s their flaw.
- Composite: They are a special kind of bat made using glasses, carbon, and Kevlar fibers present in the plastic resin. They make the loud crack sound on contact. You can also use them right away, but some of them may need a little break-in. They may also break when their life ends.
- Hybrid: These bats are a combination of both. Their barrel is made from alloy and the handle is composite. They also have a satisfactory ping sound.
But there are other types as well:
- Wood: Players, who like to enjoy the game like the old times, play with the wooden bat. Wooden bats made from Maple and Ash are most popular. There are also composite wooden bats which are made from the mixtures of different woods. They are more durable than the bats made from a single wood.
- Bamboo: Bamboo also belongs to a plant family but its bats cannot be called a wooden bat because it is grass. Bamboo billets are used to make a bat. They are usually more durable than the wooden bat.
One-piece or two-piece?
After you select the material, you need to decide how you want your bat to be. You can find a single piece bat and a two-piece bat. High-end producers claim to even have the three-piece bats now.
One-piece bats: These bats have low flex and they feel stiffer than the two-piece bats. They are amazing for the players who want better balance while hitting, but these bats don’t have advanced vibration control. When the bat misses, they have a vibration that you cannot easily neglect.
Two-piece: These bats are designed to produce less vibration and more flex. These bats are ideal for power hitters. Their flex adds power to the bat which enhances its hitting energy. The overall bat speed is also better than others. In these bats, barrel and handle are connected separately which reduces the vibration greatly.
You can even find the three-piece bat in the market now.
End-loaded or Balanced?
End-loaded: These bats have more weight at the end of the barrel. It adds power to the bat which makes them ideal for power hitters.
Balanced: They have their weight distributed equally through their complete length. These bats are the best for those who rely solely on their skills while playing.
Certification:
Although written at the end, it is the first thing that you must consider. There are different certifications and stamps that show the standard needed for certain leagues. The major acronyms you will see on your bat are:
BBCOR: It means Bat-Ball Coefficient of Restitution. NCAA set the standard to certify the composite baseball bats’ performance. BBCOR bat has the standard barrel of 2 5/8” with a minus 3 drop weight.
BBCOR comes with the BPF which means Bat Performance Factor. It provides information about how speedily the ball comes off of the bat.
NTS Stamp: it is the new 2020 stamp. They are not altering the standards at all but now the new stamp shows that NTS has tested the new bat.
USSSA: They have the 1.15 BPF with 2 ¾”, 2 5/8”, and 2 ¼” barrel.
USA Baseball (Little League): For this league, the bat must have the performance nearer to the wood and the BBCOR bats. They can have the 2 5/8” barrel or lower.
The softball certification is as follow:
USSSA/ ASA/ NSA: For NSA and USSSA, a BPF of 1.20 is needed and for USA 98 MPH certification is also needed.
ASA Only: It is for the bats that only need ASA 98 MPH standard and 1.20 BPF is not required.
These are not all but major certifications. You need to know first which bat you are allowed to play with.
